Cumilla: BNP Standing Committee Member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain on Saturday said irregularity in transport sector is one of the leading causes of road accidents in the country.

Khandaker Mosharraf made the remarks while attending a milad mahfil arranged for Chhatra Dal leader Jewell Rana who died in a road crash at Daudkandi Sadar upazila recently.

The BNP leader said huge irregularities and anarchies have been privileging in the transport sector as there is no democratic government in the country.

‘Now there is no transparency in any sector in the country,’ he further said.

Daudkandi Chhatra Dal President Roman Khandaker presided over the programme while upazila BNP President AKM Shamsul Haque, upazila committee President Delwar Hossain Nizami, Vice-president Nur Mohammad Selim Sarkar, General Secretary Nurul Amin Naim Sarkar, Daudkandi upazila Chairman Muzibur Rahman and municipality councillor Mostak Mia, among others, attended the programme.
