Mymensingh: At least six people were killed and two others injured in a road accident at Dayarampur on Mymensingh-Netrakona road under Tarakanda upazila of the district on Sunday evening.

The identities of the victims could not be known immediately.

Police said the accident occurred when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a Mymensingh-bound sand-laden truck in the area at about 6:00pm, leaving six people dead on the spot and injuring two others.

Police seized the truck but its driver managed to get away.
