2 schoolgirls hurt in road accident
Satkhira: Two schoolgirls were injured as a speeding bus knocked down their bicycles on Satkhira-Kaliganj Road in Bohera area of Debhata upazila in Satkhira on Monday, reports UNB.
Debhata police officer-in-charge Mostafizur Rahman said a Kaliganj-bound bus from Satkhira hit Sumaia Khatun and Amena Khatun, both students of class VI in Bohera High School, while they were going to school riding bicycles at the area at about 9:00am, leaving them critically injured.
Local people rescued the duo and sent them to Sadar Hospital.
Later, the injured were shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
Enraged by the incident, local people set fire on the bus and blocked the road for a while, the OC added.
