PM pays homage to Bangabandhu
Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday paid tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at the portrait of the great leader at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi marking the historic 7 March.
Sheikh Hasina first placed a wreath as the Prime Minister at the portrait of Bangabandhu at about 7:30am in the morning.
She stood there for some time in solemn silence as a mark of respect to the memory of the architect of independent Bangladesh.
Cabinet members, including Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed and Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Awami League Advisory Council member Suranjit Sen Gupta and Parliament Members were present.
Flanked by senior leaders, Sheikh Hasina, also the President of Bangladesh Awami League, later placed another wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu.
