Rajshahi: A housewife was killed on the spot when a brick-laden utility vehicle knocked her down in Kismat Kukhundi area under Matiher Police Station in Rajshahi on Tuesday morning, police sources said.

Soon after the accident, the local mob set the vehicle on fire, reports BSS.

The deceased is Rina, 23, wife of Asgar Hossain of the same area.

Ashok Chowhan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Motiher Police Station, said the woman met the accident while she was going to a nearby bazaar at about 9:30am.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Police also recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for postmortem, the OC added.
