Six-storey building in Pabna catches fire
Pabna: A six-storey building at Traffic Intersection in the district town caught fire early Monday.
M Saiful Islam, an assistant director at Pabna fire service, said the fire broke out on the ground floor of ‘Biswas Bhaban’ around 4:30am and it soon engulfed the 1st and 2nd floors, reports the UNB.
On information, five fire-fighting units rushed in and brought the fire under control after three hours of efforts.
Police said the fire gutted at least 10 business establishments housed in the building.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of the district Jasim Uddin and Superintendent of Police Sheikh Rafiqul Islam visited the spot.
