Gaibandha: At least five people, including four of a family, were killed and 10 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and tractor on Gaibandha-Palashbari road in Palashbari upazila early Saturday.

Four of the deceased were identified as Entazul Islam, his sister Kakoli Begum, his wife Afroza Begum, their daughter Hena Begum of Sundarganj upazila in Gaibandha, said officer-in-charge of Polashbari Police Station Mostafizur Rahman.

The accident took place when the Dhaka-bound bus of Darbar Paribahan collided head-on with the tractor around 12:15 am, leaving four people dead on the spot and 10 others injured.

Later, one of the injured people died on the way to hospital.

The injured were taken to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital.

The bodies were sent to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
