Gaibandha cop-murder accused crushed under train
Gaibandha: A Jamaat-e-Islami activist, who was accused in the four-cop killing case, was crushed to death by a train at Bamandanga in Sundarganj upazila on Friday afternoon.
The deceased, Jahangir Alam, was a resident of Ramvadra village in the upazila. The accident took place when Jahangir was trying to cross a level crossing near Bamandanga Railway Station around 3:00pm, leaving him dead on the spot, reported UNB.
Jahangir was arrested in a case filed for killing four policemen in an attack on the Bamandanga police camp on February 28, 2013 over the verdict of war criminal Jamaat leader Delwar Hossain Sayedee.
He was released from jail on bail on Wednesday.
