Narayanganj: Desh Energy Power Plant in Siddhirganj upazila caught fire on Friday morning.

Deputy Assistant Director of Demra Fire Service Masudur Rahman said the fire originated from transformer-3 of the power plant around 8:45am.

On information, seven fire-fighting units rushed in and doused the flame after half an hour.

One transformer was destroyed while two others were partly damaged in the fire, Masud said.

The reason behind the fire could not be known yet.
