Chittagong: A minor schoolboy was killed in a road accident in Munsef Bazar area in Patiya upazila on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Jahedul Islam Jidan, 11, a class II student of Holy Child School of the area and son of Didarul Islam, a resident of Dholghat area of the upazila.

Assistant sub-inspector of Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) police camp Pankaj Barua said the accident took place in the area when a speeding microbus hit Jidan while he was crossing the road, leaving him critically injured.

As locals took the injured to CMCH doctors declare him dead.
