Gazipur: Two people including a truck driver died from electrocution at Jhajra in the city here early Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Rubel Mia, 30, a truck driver and his assistant Jahangir, 50, hailing from Bhola district, reports the UNB.

Md Akteruzzaman, assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the incident took place around 1:30 am when the truck hit an electric pole beside the road and got electrified, leaving the duo dead on the spot.

On information, a firefighting unit went to the spot and recovered the bodies in the morning.
