Dhaka: A child was killed and six people sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion at Dhalpur in Jatrabari on Friday.

The identities of the victims could not be known immediately, reports the UNB.

The gas cylinder went off in a house with a big bang, leaving the child dead on the spot and six others injured around 7am, said sub-inspector Bacchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp.

Later they were taken to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 8:30am.
