Dhaka: Shahriar Shahid, Managing Editor of the official news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), passed away at a city hospital on Saturday.

Shahriar, who had been undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital, breathed his last there around 1:45pm, family sources said, reports the UNB.

The BSS senior journalist had long been suffering from kidney complications.

President Abdul Hamid expressed deep shock at the death of Shahriar Shahid and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
