Narayanganj: A fire broke out in a godown of Bangladesh Inland Transport Authority (BIWTA) in Khanpur area in the city on Friday.  

The fire originated from the southern part of the rented godown at about 1:00pm, said Joynal Abedin, officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Police Station.

On information, eight firefighting units from Hajiganj, Mondolpara, Adamzee fire stations went to the spot and are trying to bring the blaze under control.
