Ershad to fly to Singapore tonight
Dhaka: Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad is going to Singapore tonight (Monday night) for medical checkup, reports the UNB.
Ershad along with Jatiya Party presidium member Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu and his APS Manjurul Islam is scheduled to leave Shahjalal International Airport for Singapore in a flight around 10:45pm,’ said a party press release.
It said Ershad will return home soon after receiving treatment there.
On Saturday, Ershad appointed Jatiya Party’s presidium member Ruhul Amin Hawlader as his special assistant to discharge all the organisational responsibilities of the party chairman in his absence.
The new development came just four days after Hawlader was removed from the party’s secretary general post.
On December 3, Ershad made party presidium member Moshiur Rahman Ranga its secretary general removing Ruhul Amin Hawlader from the post.
Ranga, also the State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development & Cooperatives, is discharging the duty of party secretary general alongside its presidium member as his additional charge.
