Director Saidul Anam Tutul passes away
Dhaka: Renowned director and National Film Award winner Saidul Anam Tutul passed away at a city hospital on Tuesday. He was 68.
The nephew of the deceased Samiul Anam confirmed the news.
The director on both silver and small screen, Saidul Anam Tutul, was suffering from heart disease. He was admitted to Labaid Hospital's Coronary Care Unit (CCU) on December 16 due to a heart attack
Saidul is the first general secretary and lifetime member of Director’s Guild.
In financial year 2017-18, Saidul directed the film ‘Kaalbela’ with government aid, that returned him to directing after a 15 year long hiatus. His last major work was ‘Adhiar.’ ‘Adhiar’ was also made with government aid and was released on 2003.
In 1979, Saidul won the National Film Award as Best Editor for the film ‘Surja Dighal Bari.’ He has worked on such well known works as ‘Ghuddi,’ ‘Dahan,’ ‘Dipu Number 2,’ and ‘Dukhai.’
