Man killed, two injured in compressor blast in capital city
Dhaka: A worker was killed and two others sustained burn injuries in an explosion at a tyre repair factory in the city’s Shyampur area on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Nasir, 35, a worker of Panama Tyre and Rubber Factory in Alibahar area, reports the UNB.
Russel Shikder, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence control room, said the incident took place around 9:53 am when an air compressor of the factory went off with a big bang, leaving three on-duty workers injured.
On information, three firefighting units went there and took the injured to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Of the injured, Nasir succumbed to his injuries around 10:10am, said Assistant Sub-inspector Abdur Rahman Khan of DMCH police outpost.
