Guard each polling centre to check BNP-Jamaat terrorism: PM
Dhaka: Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday urged all the party leaders and activists to guard all the polling centres across the country so that the BNP-Jamaat terrorists cannot unleash terrorist activities.
‘You’ve to guard every polling centre so that they (BNP-Jamaat) can’t conduct terrorist activities because they haven’t changed their character…they believe in militancy and terrorism,’ she said, reports the UNB.
The Prime Minister said this while addressing an election rally in Tangail through videoconferencing from her residence Shuda Sadan in the capital.
She said the BNP-Jamaat clique is always involved in terrorism, militancy, money laundering, embezzling orphans’ money, arms smuggling and killing people through grenade and arson attacks.
Sheikh Hasina requested all the AL leaders and activists to stay safe during the election so that they do not fell prey to the BNP-Jamaat terrorists.
Talking to the people of Panchagarh, Hasina asked all the AL leaders and activists to cast their votes in the early morning so that no one could snatch their voting rights. ‘Be careful so that no one can snatch our voting rights.’
She also said the ruling party does not want any sort of terrorism and militancy and just want the development of the country, which is their main motto.
Terming the next election as very crucial, Hasina urged all to remain alert so that no terrorist and militant can come to power.
The AL chief said BNP in power means turning the country into a den of terrorism and militancy.
While speaking to the people of Pabna, she said all the party activists have to work unitedly for the victory of the party in the coming election. ‘I believe firmly that people will cast their votes in favour of Boat as they’re dreaming of a beautiful life as the benefits of development already reached them.’
She said the people of the country does not want Sheaf Of Paddy anymore as it means militancy, terrorism, corruption, looting, plundering of orphans’ money, arms smuggling and killing people through grenade and arson attacks.
The Prime Minister said AL wants every political party of the country to participate in the December 30 election.
‘This is their political right. Let’s make sure there’ll be no obstacles and hurdles in their participation. Every party will participate in the election …people themselves will decide for whom they want to cast their votes,’ she added.
Talking to the people of Jessore, the Prime Minister said the drive against militancy, terrorism and drugs will continue as well as the drive against corruption.
‘We want peace, development comes through the peace,’ she said.
Speaking to Cumilla, she said the pace of development will get a boost if the continuation of the government is maintained. ‘We want the development spree we have unleashed to continue.’
Hasina said the BNP-Jamaat nexus only knows to make their own fortunes as they never think about the people of the country. ‘They can only create militancy, Bangla Bhai.’
She said AL wants to ensure peace for the people of the country eradicating militancy, terrorism and drug abuse.
Later, Sheikh Hasina introduced the Awami League and Grand Alliance candidates contesting the election from different constituencies of Cumilla, Tangail, Jashore, Pabna and Panchgarh.
