Dinajpur: A couple was killed as a bus rammed into a motorcycle the duo was riding on at Lakshmitola intersection in Dinajpur at about 11:45am on Saturday.

The deceased are Dinesh Chandra Roy, around 25, and his wife Shyamlota Roy, around 24, residents of Baul village at Chirirbandar upazila in Dinajpur.

Ten passengers of the bus were injured as the bus crashed into a tree after hitting the motorcycle. They have been admitted to Dinajpur Sadar Hospital.

Police said a Dinajpur-bound Babul Enterprise bus from Dhaka hit the motorcycle the couple was riding on at Lakshmitola intersection area, leaving the couple dead on the spot.

Dinajpur Kotwali police officer-in-charge Khalekuzzaman said traffic movement remained suspended for half an hour after the accident. But the situation is under control now.
