Comilla: Six workers were injured as the compressor of a refrigerator exploded at a restaurant in the city’s Racecourse area on Saturday night.

Injured hotel workers Rubel, 22, and Mostafa, 24 were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital Burn unit, while Siam, 24, Arif, 23, Billal, 25, and Imran, 25 were admitted at Comilla Medical College Hospital.

Witnesses said the explosion occurred when the workers were repairing a refrigerator at Red Inn Roof Restaurant of Nisa Tower of Racecourse area at about 3:00pm, leaving them injured.  

Dulal Chandra Sutradhar, nurse of Comilla Medical College Hospital, said the victims admitted in hospital are in stable condition.
