Munshiganj: Two minor siblings drowned in Kongshopura area of Sirajdikhan upazila on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased are Raihan, 4, and Jihad, 2, sons of Bachon Matbbar of the area.

Quoting locals, Yardous Hasan, officer-in-charge of Sirajdikhan Police Station, said the two brothers were playing near the pond in the afternoon, reports UNB.

At one stage, younger brother Zihad fell into the pond and Raihan also jumped into water to save his brother.

Later they were rescued and rushed to the upazila health complex where doctors declared the duo dead.
