Dhaka: A housewife was found dead in the capital’s Hazipara area early on Sunday, reports local news agency.

The deceased is Hena Akter Dolan, believed to be 27, wife of Jahid Hossain, a Bangladeshi expatriate in United Arab Emirates.

The Rampura police officer-in-charge Rafiqul Islam said Hena jumped off the rooftop of the 5-storey building at about 4:10am.

Police rushed to the spot and whisked her off to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead around 6:25am.

However, the reason behind the suicide could not be known immediately, the OC added.
