Gazipur: A trader was crushed under the wheels of train while walking on a rail track with his headphone on ears at Joydebpur here on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Shaifullah, a resident of Potan village udner Kaliganj thana in the district.

Joydebpur railway junction police camp in-charge sub-inspector Subrata Das said when Shafiullah was walking on the rail track beside Joydebpur rail station with his headphone plugged in his ears Dhaka-bound ‘Ekata’ Express train from Dinajpur  hit him, leaving him dead on the spot.

Shafiullah came to the station for going to Dhaka, he said.
