Two policemen were killed as a truck, to which they signalled to pull over, crashed into their motorcycle in Kansat area of Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj on early Thursday, reports UNB.

The deceased are identified as Sajidul Islam, hailing from Dinajpur and sub-inspector of Shibganj Police Station, and Ataul Islam, hailing from Joypurhat and a trainee traffic sergeant of the police station.

At about 5:30am, Abdus Sattar and Ataul Isalm from a motorcycle waved to a Chapainawabganj-bound truck to pull over in Kansat area but the truck slammed into their motorbike, leaving the duo dead on the spot, said MM Mainul Islam, officer-in-charge of the police station, quoting witnesses.

Police recovered the bodies.
