Comilla: Two people were killed in a road accident at Sujatpur on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Chauddagram upazila on Saturday night, reports UNB.

One of the deceased is Tareq Hossain, 35, son of Abdul Wahab, a resident of Ratanpur village of the upazila.

Chauddagram Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md Mahfuz said the accident took place in the area at about 10:00pm when a pickup van hit them, leaving the duo dead on the spot.

The deceased were passengers of a Comilla-bound bus of ‘Prince Saudia Paribahan’ from Chittagong.

They met the accident as they were walking on the road after a wheel of their vehicle punctured.

Later police seized the pickup van.

However, the driver and his helper managed to flee the scene.
