Dinajpur: A police constable was killed as a police pickup van carrying him hit a road side tree at Bochaganj upazila in Dinajpur in the early hours of Monday.

The deceased is Abdul Latif, a resident of Gaibandha district.

Four other members of police were also injured during the accident.

The Bochaganj police officer-in-charge (OC) Habibul Haque said the accident took place as the driver of the police vehicle lost his control over the steering wheel while the police members were patrolling on Setabganj-Pirganj road in Tikiapara area at about 2:30am.

The injured were taken to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital, local health complex, and Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
