Patuakhali: Three members of a family were killed and six people injured in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a jeep at Shiyali on Patuakhali-Barisal highway in Patuakhali Sadar upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Anwara Begum, 40, her son Mamun, 15, and three-month-old daughter Mariam, residents of Pangasia village in Dumki upazila.

Witnesses said the jeep collided head-on with the auto-rickshaw around 5:30pm, leaving three members of the family dead on the spot.

The injured were taken to Patuakhali 250-bedded Hospital, said officer-in-charge of Patuakhali Sadar Police Station Tariqul Islam.
