Dhaka: A motorcycle rider was crushed under the wheels of a speeding train at Banarupa level crossing in the capital’s Khilkhet on Wednesday morning, reports local news agency.

The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately.

The Kamalapur railway station police sub-inspector Rafiqul Islam said the accident took place when the victim was crossing the Banarupa level crossing at about 9:30am, leaving him injured on the spot.

Later he was taken to Kurmitola General Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
