Habiganj: Police rescued one of the four residential students, who went missing from a madrasah in Nabiganj upazila on Friday afternoon, from the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal in Sylhet early on Sunday, while the law enforcers confirmed the whereabouts of the rest three the day before, reports UNB.

The Shayestaganj Police officer-in-charge Yeasinul Haque said on information, a team of police conducted a raid at the shrine and rescued Sohanur,11, son of Abdul Mannan of Dariapur village in Sadar upazila, at about 3:00 am.

Earlier, police on Saturday night confirmed that the rest three missing students—Noyon, 11, son of Abdullah Mia of Sujanagar in Nabiganj upazila, Rafid, 13, son of Abdur Rashid of Manu Chargaon in Bahubal upazila and Imtiaz, 12, son of Abdul Ahab, were staying at the house of Noyon at Sujanagar village in the upazila.

Later, all the four boys were taken to the office of the Superintendent of Police on Sunday morning.

Details of the rescue drive will be revealed at a press briefing in the afternoon, following which the children will be handed over to their families, the OC added.

On Saturday, the madrasa authorities found the four boys missing and informed police.

The authorities said the four students came out of the madrasah after Juma prayers saying they will go to a tailoring shop for making Panjabi.
