Gaibandha: A couple reportedly committed suicide by hanging themselves in Sadullahpur upazila of Gaibandha early Sunday, reports local news agency.

The Sadullahpur police officer-in-charge Farhad Imrul Kayes said Rostom Ali Khandaker, believed to be 17, an HSC student, and Sultana Akter Mukti, aged around 15, a class IX student, both residents of Chhandiapur Fakirpara village of the upazila, wanted to tie the knot but their families did not take give consent to it.

Local people found their bodies hanging from the tree early in the morning and called police.

Later, the law enforcers recovered the bodies and sent those to Gaibandha Adhunik Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
