Khulna:  A fire broke out on the fifth floor of the sixth storey building of Khulna City Corporation building on Monday morning.

The Khulna police officer-in-charge Shafiq Ahmed said an office assistant of the trade license branch of KCC discovered fire and smoke as he opened the lock of the office at about 9:00am.

Later, he called fire service.

Five fire fighters units doused the fire after half an hour, said the police.

The OC said important documents, furniture, and computer damaged during the incident.

However, the extent of damage is fewer as the fire could not engulfed the other floors of the building.
