Jhenaidah: Two people including a woman were killed and three others injured in a road accident at Hatgopalpur-Chagolbandha crossing in Sadar upazila on Monday.

The deceased were Robiul Islam Latu, 50, son of Siraj Uddin of Fursandhi village and Saira Khatun, 51, wife of Abdur Rashid, a resident of Dhananjoypur village in Sadar upazila, reported BSS.

Officer-in-charge of Sadar Thana Hasan Hafijur Rahman said the accident occurred when a truck hit a battery-run auto rickshaw in the area from opposite direction at about 2-30 pm, leaving two auto rickshaw passengers dead on the spot and three others injured.

The injured were sent to local clinic for treatment.
