Drive to dismantle illegal roadside structures from Wednesday: Obaidul
Dhaka: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said a drive to demolish illegal roadside and highway structures will start across the country on Wednesday.
He said this while talking reporters during inspection of the activities of an ongoing BRTA-led mobile court in the city’s Gulistan area.
The minister said today is the last day for illegal encroachers to voluntarily remove their establishments, or else, those will be demolished from Wednesday.
‘This will be an ongoing process till all the illegal roadside structures are removed,’ he asserted.
As for the BRTA-led mobile court, he said, it will also continue to look for vehicles having no fitness certificate and charging excessive fares.
Obaidul warned that those to be found guilty will either be fined or face legal action, or both.
