Dhaka: Three passengers, including two women, of a private car were killed when a bus crashed into the car from behind on the Airport Road in front of Khilkhet on Sunday afternoon.

Police got hold of the killer bus after its driver fled the scene.

The victims were identified as Delwar Hossain Muzumder, 67, his sister Mrs Milon and her daughter Lovely, 27.

The incident took place when a passenger bus of ‘ENA Paribahan ‘ crashed into the private car as both were heading towards Mohakhali from Airport on the north side of the Khilkhet foot overbridge at around 4:10 pm, said SI Faridul, duty officer of Khilkhet police station.

Delwar died on the spot, while Mrs Milon and her daughter Lovely succumbed to their injuries at nearby Kurmitola General Hospital, according to SI Faridul. The driver of the private car, Sabuj, was undergoing treatment in the same hospital.
