Bogra: Six people, including a woman and her daughter, were killed and 25 others injured in separate road accidents Shibganj and Sadar upazilas on Monday.

In Shibganj, four people were killed and 25 others injured in a head-on collision between a Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) bus and a truck at Pakurtala Mokamtala on Bogra-Rangpur highway in the evening.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Witnesses and police said the Rangpur-bound BRTC bus from Bogra collided head-on with the truck coming from the opposite direction around 7pm, leaving four people dead on the spot and 25 others injured.

The accident also suspended traffic on the highway for some time.

In Sadar upazila, a woman and her daughter were killed as a speedy bus hit them at Thengamara at noon.

The deceased were identified as Ranu Khatun, 25, wife of Jahangir Hossain, and her daughter Jakia Sultana, 3, of Thengamara Uttarpara.

Witnesses said the Dhaka-bound ‘Shaikat Paribahan’ bus from Rangpur knocked them down while crossing the road around 12:30pm. They died on the spot.
