3 burned in Dhaka factory fire
Dhaka: Three people sustained burn injuries as a fire broke out in a shoe the factory in the city’s Bangshal area on Thursday.
In-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp inspector Mozammel Haque said three victims-M Jasim, 37, owner of Jasim sandal and shoe factory, and two employees of the factory-Ali Akkas, 50, and Abdullah, 25-were admitted to the hospital at about 3:30pm.
The fire broke out at about 3:00pm when Akkas lighted a matchstick and it came in contact with some chemicals in the factory, leaving Akkas injured.
Factory owner Jasim and employee Abdullah also suffered burn wounds as they tried to save Akkas.
Later, the other workers managed to douse the blaze and took the three to the hospital.
