Dhaka: Gonojagoron Mancha will hold a rally in the city on Friday protesting the killing of Comilla Victoria College student Sohagi Jahan Tonu after rape.

The rally will begin at 4 pm at Shahbagh, according to a press release.

Spokesperson of Gonojagoron Mancha Imran H Sarker in a statement on Thursday said blockade was put up on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in protest against the incident. If needed, blockade will be put up across the country, but this type of killing and rape must be stopped.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Online Activists Forum will organize a human chain demanding arrest and trial of the culprits involved in the incident in front National Press Club at 11 am on Friday.

Sohagi Jahan Tonu, a second year student of History Department of Comilla Victoria College and a member of Victoria College Theatre, was found dead in a bush beside a culvert inside the Comilla Cantonment area on Sunday night. Her head was smashed, and she had allegedly been raped.
