Young man drowns in Meghna River
Brahmanbaria: A young man drowned while talking bath in the Meghna River in Ashuganj upazila on Thursday, reports UNB.
Quoting witnesses, Selim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Ashuganj Police Station, said Jahid, 22, a resident of Mirpur in the capital, along with his two friends went to visit Ashuganj Fertiliser Factory and Power Plant.
Later the trio hired a boat to have pleasure trip in the Meghna River.
When the boat reached Char Sonarampur, they jumped into the river for taking bath at about 3:00pm.
At one stage, Jahid went missing and drowned in the river.
Police recovered the body and took it to the police station.
