Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia said  the ongoing ‘movement’ will continue until any logical solution comes out.

Khaleda Zia came up with the remark while briefing media at her Gulshan office on Friday.

BNP chairperson said, ‘I was restricted to my office just before the 5 January programme. Police locked the gate of my office. I was hindered to come out. Pepper spray was used on us, though its use was banned by the court.’

‘The government is threatening media to use them as its tool. They have snatched away the rights of people. So we called for movement. The movement is going on to ensure rights of people.’- she added.

Targeting BNP leaders and activists, Khaleda Zia said, ‘We will stand beside you when time will change.’

Khaleda Zia thanked those foreign countries, organisations and mass media who demanded for dialogue to solve problems.

Three-point demand:

At the press briefing, the BNP chief placed a three-point demand including

-the release of all political detainees,

-restoring the political rights of holding meetings and rallies, and

-arrangement of a dialogue for fresh election in free and fair manner.

Former prime minister Khaleda Zia held her last press conference on 19 January after the government withdrew the siege to her office after 15 days.

She has been living in her political office since 3 January last.

On 5 January, the BNP-led 20-Party Alliance chief announced a non-stop blockade programme after having failed to come out from her Gulshan office to join her alliance’s scheduled rally in the capital on the day.

The non-stop blockade enforced by the alliance is passing its 67th day on Friday.

Besides, the alliance enforced hartal on all working days of the week for the last two months alongside its blockade.
