Awami League joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, in his reaction to the speech of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Friday, has said that Khaleda has ‘lied shamelessly’.

Hanif said, ‘Khaleda Zia has said that freedom of expression has been restricted and there is no freedom of the news media. Khaleda being under arrest warrant, has called a press briefing. Even after that she says there is no freedom of media. What can be more shameless lie than this remark?’  

‘There can be no dialogue with killers. The current situation will be brought under control bringing the killers under trial’- he added.

Hanif also ruled out the possibility of any dialogue with BNP.

Earlier, Khaleda Zia called a press briefing at her Gulshan office in capital on Friday.
