Benapole: A man and his son were killed as a bus hit their motorcycle on the Benapole-Jessore road in Beniali area in Jhikargachha upazila on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Mosarraf Hossain, 55, son of Potla Morol of Bahadurpu village of the upazila, and his son Mahmudur Rahman Roni 27, according to a UNB report.

Officer-in-charge of Jhikargachha police Mollah Khabiruddin Ahmed said a Benapole-bound bus hit the motorcycle at Beniali at about 5:00pm while Mosarraf was going to Jessore along with his son, leaving them dead on the spot.

The bodies were sent to Jessore Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police seized the bus but its driver managed to flee from the scene.

A case was filed in this connection.
