Khulna: A policeman was killed as a covered van hit his motorcycle on the Khulna-Jessore Highway at Daulatpur in the Khulna city on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Anjan Kumar Sarker, sub-inspector of Daulatpur Police Station under Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP).

Police said the Khulna-bound covered van hit his motorcycle on the highway in front of Daulatpur club around 10:30am, leaving him critically injured.

Later he was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 1:45pm.
