Rangpur: Two minor children were electrocuted in Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur on Friday, reports UNB.

The deceased were identified as Sinthia, 6, daughter of Sherul Islam, and Nazmul, 4, son of Moynul Haque of Durgamati village.

Police said Sherul has a poultry farm in Durgamati Bazar area. He used to keep the iron net of the farm electrified for keeping foxes away from it.

The two children touched the electrified net while frolicking by the poultry farm at noon, leaving them dead on the spot.
