Netrakona: Two children drowned in Bagra River at Kalmakanda upazila in Netrakona on Sunday.

The deceased children are Jahidul Islam, 3, son of Abdul Jalil of Hatkhira village, and Samia Akter, 2, daughter of Abdul Karim of the same village.

Deceased Jahidul’s uncle Abdur Rahim said the two children fell in the river while playing by its side.

Kalmakanda police officer-in-charge Mahbub Alam said police recovered the bodies and handed those over to the families.
