Benapole: A worker was killed and another injured as a timber-laden truck plunged into a roadside ditch at Banshbaria on the Chingra-Trimohoni road in Keshabpur upazila of Benapole on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased is Abdul Moral, believed to be 42, a resident of Maddhakul village in Keshabpur upazila.

Police said a timber-laden truck was going to Jessore with Abdul Moral and the other workers on board.

When the truck reached Banshbaria, the vehicle plunged into a roadside ditch as the driver lost control over the steering around 12:00noon, leaving Abdul dead on the spot.
