Two minor cousins drowned in a pond of Jugipukuria village in Patkelghata upazila on Thursday morning.

The deceased are Shobha Khatun, 2, daughter of Shariful, and Shuvo, one-and-half-year-old son of Saiful, reports UNB.

The two children slipped into water around 11am while frolicking by the pond near their house, said officer-in-charge of Patkelghata Police Station Tariqul Islam.

Later, family members found their floating bodies in the pond after a hectic search.
