PM inaugurates 'Amar Ekushey Granthamela'

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the month-long book fair ‘Amar Ekushey Granthamela-2015’ along with International Literary Conference on the Bangla Academy premises in the capital on Sunday afternoon.
Commenting on the current political unrest, the prime minister said killing people by petrol bomb, and arson attacks cannot be called movement, it is militancy.
Hasina said the government is working to bring back peace in the country.
This is the first time an International literature Conference is being held alongside Ekhushey Book Fair.
Bangla Academy public relations department says that 565 units of stalls have been allocated to 351 organisations in this fair. Books published by Bangla Academy will be sold on 30% discount, but 70% discount will be offered on books published by the academy before 2000. Other organisations will give 25% discounts on their books.
The fair premises will be monitored by 75 closed-circuit surveillance cameras.
