Savar: Two people, including a garment worker, were killed and 10 others injured in two separate road accidents in Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka on Saturday, reports UNB.

Witnesses said Rubel Mia, 21, a worker of ‘Samia Garments Factory’ in East Sadarpur in Savar municipality area, was killed and 10 others were injured in a road accident at Kalmar Dhal in Savar in the morning.

The accident occurred when an Ashulia-bound bus carrying garment factory workers from Radio Colony area hit another bus while overtaking it.

The injured were rushed to Savar Enam Medical College Hospital.

Following the incident, authorities of the garments factory declared the factory closed for the day for avoiding workers’ unrest.

In another incident, Abdul Momen, 30, a bus helper was killed when a bus ran over him on the Dhaka-Aricha highway at Bishmile Bust Stand area on the day.

Two separate cases were filed in connection with the incidents.
