Chapainawabganj: A school teacher was killed when a truck hit him at Kamarpara Avaya Square under Godagari upazila of Rajshahi on Chapainawabganj-Rajshahi highway on Saturday morning.

The victim is Shahidul Alam, 48, son of Ansar Ali of Ranibari under Shibganj upazila of Chandpur district. He was the Headmaster of Ranibari High School under Shibganj upazila.

Godagari police officer-in-charge (OC) SM Abu Farhad said Shahidul Alam was going to Rajshahi by a motorcycle and when he reached near Kamarpara Avaya Square, a Chapainawabganj bound truck hit his motor cycle and he died on the spot at about 8:15am.

Receiving information police from Godagari police station rushed to the spot and recovered the body and later handed over to his family members, OC added.

According to his family sources, Shahidul Alam was going to attend a training session of Headmasters at Rajshahi Teachers Training College this morning.
