Savar: A man was killed in a collision between two trucks on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Ulail bus stand area of Savar on Tuesday morning.

Five others were also injured during the accident.

The deceased, Khaimuddin, believed to be in his forty, was driver of one of the trucks.

The Savar model police officer-in-charge SM Kamruzzaman said the collision took place when a Manikganj-bound timber-laden truck collided head-on with another truck near Ulail fire service office at about 8:00am, leaving Khaimuddin dead on spot and five injured.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The injured were taken to Enam Medical College Hospital.

Police also seized the two trucks but their drivers managed to flee away.
